Matchday 10 of Moçambola-2024 saw skirmishes at Soalpo, in Chimoio, Manica province, in the match between Textáfrica and Associação Black Bulls (ABB). In evidence is the challenge to the refereeing teams, alleging bad work to the detriment of the hosts.
Leaders ABB, or the Bulls, now on 26 points, won 1-2 at Soalpo in a match which, due to the level of protests, forced the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) to disperse the fans using rubber bullets and tear gas.
The Bulls got the first goal through Kadre and then Victor Tesoura scored the second. But just when everything seemed settled, Textáfrica made it 1-2 and in an attempt to get the equalizer they claimed that a player had been brought down in Ernan's area, but the referee didn't see it that way.
From then on, soccer was no longer celebrated in Soalpo, tempers flared and Textáfrica de Chimoio fans caused chaos after the referee allegedly turned a "blind eye" to a move that would have resulted in a penalty for the "highlanders".
The match's main referee, Guilherme Malagueta, was escorted away after being beaten by the fans, but journalists were also injured during the confusion.
Meanwhile, protests were not only a feature of the match between Textáfrica and ABB in Pemba, in the Baía-Ferroviário de Nampula match, which ended in a one-all draw, Baía de Pemba fans protested the refereeing work, claiming that, in the final part of the game, Gulamo was stopped outside the laws, inside Xavito's area. However, the "locomotives" also said that Belito had been fouled earlier in the game.
