The revision of the Land Law could allow the state to recover, over the next two years, idle land in Cabo Delgado province, whose owners have not fulfilled the purposes for which they were given it.

Some tracts of land, others 'usurped' from communities in Montepuez (mainly in Namanhumbir), Balama and Palma, have been ceded for investment, says the report. News.

The population is unaware of the 'owners', but on large plots of land there are signs indicating political entities, businessmen and government officials as the holders of the DUATs.

According to the newspaper, there has been idle land for more than 10 years, where the population is prevented from carrying out agricultural activities.
