In all, 16 people have already lost their lives as a result of the lightning strikes and flooding that occurred in Tete province around two months ago.

The situation has led to an increase in the number of deaths due to atmospheric discharges and being swept away by the waters, from 10 to 16, according to the newspaper "O País".
As a way of preventing more deaths, the INGD guarantees that the local risk and disaster management committees are intensifying the dissemination of prevention measures in the affected areas.
According to the newspaper, in addition to the deaths, around 280 houses, including schools and churches, were destroyed.
