On Thursday (20), the National Social Security Institute (INSS) began delivering aid to pensioners and self-employed workers affected by cyclone Chido in Cabo Delgado. The initiative, according to the institution, is part of the Health and Social Action Program.
According to a publication in the newspaper "The Country"In total, 754 pensioners and 1,601 self-employed workers have been identified in the most affected areas, including the city of Pemba and the districts of Mecúfi, Metuge, Namuno and Chiúre.
"Beneficiaries will receive building materials such as zinc sheets, beams, bags of cement, wire and nails. Self-employed workers, meanwhile, will receive kits of equipment and work materials, suited to their economic activity, to boost their sources of income," says the same publication.
The symbolic handover ceremony took place in Pemba and was attended by the chairman of the INSS Board of Directors, Kabir Fahar Ibrahimo, who made the initial handover to ten beneficiaries.
