INSS assiste vítimas dos ciclones Chido e Dikeledi em Nampula

Pensioners from the compulsory social security system in the districts affected by cyclones Chido and Dikeledi, in Nampula province, have been benefiting from support provided by the National Social Security Institute (INSS) since March 21, and the delivery process is gradual.

In this context, 41 pensioners living in the districts of Mossuril and Ilha de Moçambique have already benefited from the support, the handover ceremonies for which took place last Friday, consisting of construction material, namely zinc sheets, cement, beams, wire and nails, with the aim of dealing with the damage by rebuilding or constructing their homes. In this first phase, 56 pensioners were identified in the districts of Ilha de Moçambique (30 pensioners), Mossuril (11), Nacala-a-Velha (13) and Memba (2).

According to Rigor newspaper, The activity in question is part of the government's effort to mitigate the impact caused by these two natural phenomena, in this case through the Ministry of Labor, Gender and Social Action, made possible by the Health and Social Action Program, implemented by the INSS as part of its social responsibility.

It is estimated that just over 300 INSS pensioners were affected by the cyclones in question in Nampula province. In the meantime, work is underway to definitively identify more pensioners, carried out by technicians from the INSS district and provincial offices, in coordination with local governments.
