The final exams for the 6th and 4th year of adult and youth primary education begin today in Mozambique. The exams are the culmination of the learning process for the current 2024 school year.
The exams are taking place at a time when the country, especially in urban areas, is experiencing a climate of instability caused by post-election demonstrations, marked by outbreaks of violence.
According to aornal NewsDespite this scenario, the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEDH) has decided not to change the school calendar for the current academic year, which is scheduled to end on December 22, not least because the exam matrices were sent to schools a few weeks ago.
So, today there are exams in Portuguese Language and Natural Sciences and tomorrow in Mathematics and Social Sciences.
Next week, which will coincide with the start of the 10th and 12th grade exams, students in Primary School and the 4th year of Adult and Youth Education who were absent at the first call will sit the second call exams, provided they justify their absence.
The second call for secondary school exams will take place from the 9th to the 13th of next month.
