South African petrochemical company Sasol, which explores for natural gas in the north of Inhambane province, has announced the disbursement of just over 30 million meticais in support of a land-use planning project in five communities in Govuro district.
According to Sasol, the beneficiaries are the communities of Maluvane, Pande-Sede, Colonga, Chimedje and Doane, where the work will consist of opening up access roads and setting up milestones.
A publication by Radio Mozambique says that this work began in July last year and is expected to be completed by the end of October.
"At the moment, more than 5,000 plots have been parcelled out and just over 40 kilometers of access roads have been opened," says the same publication.
