The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) reports that the EMNATI depression, which formed east of Madagascar, has evolved in the last few hours into a severe tropical storm, with the potential to reach the stage of a moderate tropical cyclone in the coming days.
INAM says in a statement that this weather system could reach the east coast of Madagascar on the 22nd of this month.
INAM indicates that additionally, east of Madagascar the sixth weather system formed, tropical depression, which evolved into the Moderate Tropical Storm, named FEZILE.
Meanwhile, following the passage of a system of low pressure in the center and north of the country, INAM predicts the occurrence of heavy rainfall of up to 200 millimeters in 24 hours, accompanied by severe thunderstorms and gusty winds in the provinces of Zambezia, Nampula, Sofala, Manica, and Niassa.
