The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) warned on Monday (10) of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by severe thunderstorms and gusty winds, which could fall from the end of today in the southern and central regions of the country.

According to INAM, the districts of the provinces of Tete, Manica, Sofala, in the central region of the country and the districts of the provinces of Gaza, Inhambane, Maputo Cidade and Maputo province could be the worst affected by the bad weather.

The alert issued by the agency indicates that the phenomenon could cause the state of the sea to become agitated, and therefore calls on citizens to observe various precautionary measures.
