IMOPETRO seeks new fuel supplier for the country

Moçambicana Petroleum Importer (IMOPETRO) is looking for a new supplier of Jet, Diesel and Gasoline to supply the country in the next three months.

Information published by Carta states that at the moment the fuels have been supplied since mid-July 2022 by the French company, Totsa, a subsidiary of TotalEnergies.

The Charter publication, also says that in an international public tender, released a few days ago, IMOPETRO needs 150,000 Metric Tons (MT) of "Premium Unleaded" Gasoline, 25,000 MT of Jet and 400,000 MT of 50 ppm Diesel.

In the document, the Authority states that the tender will be governed by international public tender procedures similar to those specified in the World Bank guidelines and is open to all eligible bidders.

Interested bidders should purchase the specifications at a non-refundable price of 25,000 USD.

It should be noted that through Decree No. 45/2012 of December 28, IMOPETRO is the only entity responsible for fuel imports in the country.

According to the decree, the measure aims to reduce costs arising from imports and provide greater gain from the process. IMOPETRO currently has 29 fuel distribution companies in the country. (Letter)
