The National Operational Center for Emergencies (CENOE) warns of flooding in the districts of Caia and Marromeu, in Sofala and other regions of the provinces of Tete and Zambézia, despite the retreat of Tropical Storm Ana.
CENOE predicts that flooding will affect a universe of 200,000 people, due to overflow in the Zambezi basin.
This is due to the contributions that the Zambezi basin is making due to the runoff from the Chire and Revubue rivers and the rains that continue to fall in these regions.
The information was revealed this Thursday, in Tete, by the general director of the Regional Administration of Central Water.
In view of the increased flow in the main watersheds as a result of moderate tropical storm Ana, it reiterates the appeal to families, who insist on remaining in the at-risk areas, to abandon to safe places.
