The Government guaranteed, this Tuesday, that it will conclude the revision of the errors in the Single Wage Scale (TSU) by the end of this year, at the same time that it is still uncertain about the beginning of payment to employees not included in the new wage calculations.
In the Government's view, this month's TSU-based payments for level 1C employees will occur by next Friday, the 29th, as "normally the salary payment process tends to be processed between the 15th and 29th of each month, depending on the celerity of the system."
This June, minimum wages begin to be paid in line with the TSU. And, until December, the State plans to disburse, for all employees, 9.2 billion meticais for the payment of salaries based on the TSU. The employees not yet covered by the TSU will continue to receive their usual salaries.
The Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Carla Louveira, said that work is underway to review and correct the errors detected in the implementation of the TSU.
"It follows the appreciation of the concerns raised by such trade union associations and various stakeholders in this process, which we understand to be a pertinent concern that must be properly evaluated, analyzed so that in due time we can see that this table is being implemented as the approved, therefore, through Law 5/2022," he considered.
The deputy minister said there is a pre-schedule for this process to finish, and that it will be after it has already been aligned with the unions and associations that have presented the concerns.
Once the process is finished, the government expects that in 2023 it will spend about 19.6 billion meticais just for the payment of salaries based on the TSU.
