The government is ensuring the timely distribution of school books and says that all the conditions are in place for the start of the 2025 school year next Friday (31), throughout Mozambique.

According to the spokesman for the Council of Ministers, Inocêncio Impissa, who was speaking yesterday (28) at the usual press briefing, there is also an effort to make the books available in two formats, physical and electronic.

"In any case, the most important thing is that the textbook has to be available to schools, teachers and, in particular, students. This is the effort that is being made to ensure that school starts without any problems," said Impissa, who is also Minister of State Administration and Civil Service.

In 2024, dozens of elementary school in the country ended the school year without a textbook, which prevented some pupils from following the lessons with the free textbook.

According to Impissa, quoted by AIMThe conditions are in place for the start of the 2025 school year, despite the challenges posed by the violent post-election demonstrations.
