The governor of Nampula, Eduardo Abdula, who was introduced to the population last Friday (24), has been leading a campaign to collect donations for the victims of tropical cyclone Dikeledi, which hit the province a few days ago..
This Saturday (25), a group of businesspeople handed over various items of support to the Nampula Provincial Executive Council (CEP), consisting of food and shelter kits, in order to meet the immediate needs of the victims.
According to a publication on the IkweliIn a first phase, more than 40,000 families in the districts of Ilha de Moçambique and Mossuril will be assisted with this support, and it is hoped that other entrepreneurs and people of good faith will be able to provide more support in the coming days.
"We thought it would be good to show the whole province the kind of support we are offering, with a view to helping families. So we have a campaign with food products and other items to deliver to the districts of Ilha de Moçambique and Mossuril," said the governor.
On the other hand, the governor of Nampula province explained that he had already delivered the products to the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (INGD) for distribution. "We have invited the Provincial Assembly and the political parties so that together we can help around 40,000 families with rice, flour, sugar, iodized salt, zinc sheets, rolls of roofing tarpaulin, beams, juices, among other items from the business class," said Eduardo Abdula.
