Galp supports professional projection of young Mozambicans with AIESEC

Galp apoia projecção profissional de jovens moçambicanos com AIESEC

Galp Moçambique recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding linking the company to the International Association of Students in Economic and Business Sciences (AIESEC). The aim is to support AIESEC in carrying out its social impact projects on Mozambican youth, while also bringing the company closer to young people in society.

The Memorandum takes effect, among other initiatives, through Galp hiring national interns (Local Internship Program); Galp joining and participating in AIESEC Social Responsibility programs; Galp employees participating as speakers at AIESEC fairs, workshops and events; Galp accessing AIESEC members through conferences and events and facilitating training and development sessions for young people.

"We have been investing more and more in Mozambican youth, because we believe that they will lead the way in making Galp an increasingly better company to work for," says Marlena Chambule, the company's People and Organization Director, adding: "AIESEC, for its role in the development of young students through its various learning platforms, is the best partner we could have on this path."

"As a global platform that gives young people the chance to develop leadership as university students, we are honored by this partnership," emphasized AIESEC President Izidino Matlava.

"Galp is inclined to support young people and saw in AIESEC a credible organization to continue its relevant efforts and projects to support Mozambicans," he said.

Galp contributes to the growth of the communities in which it operates, through funding and partnerships with various organizations, as well as projecting young people across borders through the Galp Scholarship Program, an initiative in partnership with the Galp Foundation.

It should be noted that in 2021 Galp carried out, for the first time in Mozambique, the Generation Galp program, an initiative of trainees graduates with the objective of attracting and training young people with high potential.

This year, the company has invested heavily in leadership development, through its leadership academy, which has been running since March of this year, with the aim of raising people's level in management matters and equipping them with tools to help them influence the development of their teams.
