Galp supports pioneering exhibition promoting the use of LPG in Mozambique

Galp apoia exposição pioneira que promove utilização do GPL em Mocambique

Galp Moçambique will be present as host at the LPG Expo in Maputo on April 17 and 18, a reflection of its commitment to developing a more convenient, more accessible and cleaner energy source for the Mozambican population, visible in the major investments made in recent years throughout the value chain.

Galp has been promoting the adoption of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) as a more sustainable energy solution that reduces the use of biomass - coal and firewood - which continue to be the main energy sources for many Mozambican families, with a direct impact on public health, greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation.

Galp will unveil several projects developed in various countries that also show a search for solutions adapted to the realities of the countries where it operates: Pluma bottles, which are lighter than iron bottles; Pluma Inteligente, a bottle with content and consumption indicators associated with a mobile application; Minicookspot and Fumukaba kits.

"At this event, which is taking place in Mozambique for the first time and will be the largest in this sector in southern Africa, we will present the diversity of our offer and our commitment to innovation in all the markets in which we operate," said Paulo Varela, CEO of Galp Moçambique, quoted in the company's statement.

Galp believes that LPG is an important, accessible and safe energy option, both for traditional uses and in industrial production, which has seen significant growth in the use of LPG as an alternative fuel.

The 1st Southern Africa LPG Expo is a premier event designed to shape the trajectory of the thriving LPG market in the Southern and Eastern African region. With the participation of more than 40 exhibitors and 2000 regional players, this exhibition is the most significant gathering in the field, set to unlock new horizons in the LPG sector.
