Special Forces trained by EU military will soon leave for Cabo Delgado

Members of special forces, in training in the district of Vanduzi, Manica province, leave within days for Cabo Delgado to reinforce the fight against terrorism.

These are agents trained by the European Union military.

The announcement was made by the President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who visited the training center this Sunday, as part of his official visit to Mozambique.

"In a few days they will be in Cabo Delgado. Several have already been to Cabo Delgado, once or twice. Here we train the best of the best to guarantee the best security, but also security for the populations. It is not only military security, it is security for the civilian populations, guaranteeing that they can return, that they can go about their normal daily lives," he said.

Marcelo urged the newly-graduated military personnel to respect international law and humanitarian law during their mission in Cabo Delgado, and to always serve the Mozambican people.
