The Water Supply Investment and Property Fund (FIPAG), is mobilizing funds to expand the water supply network in the Greater Maputo Metropolitan Region. The goal is to increase from the current 67% coverage to 95% by 2030.
Through this investment, FIPAG intends to increase production capacity by 60,000 cubic meters per day and storage capacity by 70,000. "The process also involves expanding the distribution network to new areas, such as Moamba, Marracuene, Boane and the KaTembe area, while others will be covered by independent boreholes," the company said without giving the amount needed.
To this end, FIPAG is counting on the initiative, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which foresees the mobilization of at least 482 million dollars from different partners in the sector.
FIPAG's investment also provides for the reduction of the volumes of water that is pumped and does not reach consumers due to deficiencies in the network.
