The councilman and son of the leader of the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo) Ossufo Momade, arrested on suspicion of irregularities in the licensing of a container for a store in Nampula, has been released.
Osvaldo Ossufo Momade's release was confirmed by the indicted man himself.
"I prefer not to speak because I don't understand these things," Osvaldo Ossufo Momade merely stated.
At issue is a permit for a 13 square meter commercial space on a street in Nampula, where two were eventually set up, with the Public Ministry alleging that Osvaldo Ossufo Momade broke the law to give preference to one permit applicant.
The prosecution justifies the arrest with evidence of "administrative acts without competence, misleading the mayor, and obstructing justice.
The complaint came from another interested party in the license.
At issue are the crimes of abuse of office or function, fraud, and false testimony or statement, he adds.
Osvaldo Ossufo Momade is councilman for Economic Promotion, Market and Fair Management in Nampula Municipality.
