FemTech trains 25 women entrepreneurs from Maputo, Tete and Niassa

FemTech capacita 25 mulheres empreendedoras de Maputo, Tete e Niassa

On Friday, December 16, ideiaLab, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and RVO - Dutch Business Agency, graduated 25 women from the provinces of Maputo, Tete and Niassa. The ceremony took place as part of the FemTech 2022 program, an ideiaLab initiative that supports women entrepreneurs who want to develop their businesses in a sustainable and competitive way.

During the graduation ceremony, which took place at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the graduates shared their knowledge and personal experience gained during the 9th edition of the program. The women work in different sectors, from the food industry to handicrafts, decoration, fashion, health, consultancy and service provision, among other areas.

Throughout the program, which took place virtually, the participants had the opportunity to learn how to better structure their businesses, rethink their strategies and promote their own. networking.

In addition to acquiring knowledge and tools that contribute to the growth of their businesses, FemTech focuses on the personal development of each woman. "This entrepreneurship program allows all women to be better prepared to embrace the countless opportunities that await them in the business world, to become what they have always aspired to be"said Tatiana Pereira, Executive Catalyst and co-founder of ideiaLab. She also stressed that "it's a privilege to welcome and learn about the stories and businesses of these enterprising women and very rewarding to be able to contribute to improving female entrepreneurship in Mozambique".

"Joining FemTech was a transformation and opened many doors for me. I've met some really important people who are, after all, femmies and I'm proud to be part of this family", said Márcia Sele, one of the participants who successfully completed the 9th edition of FemTech.

Isa Cumba, another participant, said that when she looks back today she sees  "a huge difference in the way I structure the business and how I think about solutions." "At the beginning it was a huge challenge because of the digital tools, but I felt that we were all together and that we are very resilient. I'll never be the same again" said the young entrepreneur.

FemTech is a business acceleration program created in 2008, which aims to support the business growth and personal development of women. The initiative, which has already graduated more than 150 entrepreneurs across the country, is aimed at women who are at least 25 years old and have been running informal businesses for at least 2 years.
