Ernst & Young (EY), in collaboration with New Faces New Voices (Graça Machel Trust), has just launched the 2nd edition of 'Be Like a Woman', with applications running from July 1st to 31st for women from all over the country.
This women's leadership project by EY and partners is a response to the need to strengthen the representation and leadership of women at all levels and to promote gender equality, creating a more inclusive environment in the business world.
The aim is to ensure that they are increasingly able to respond to today's challenges, giving them access to tools to reach leadership positions, through various activities, workshops, training and mentoring.
This initiative is aimed at women living in Mozambique, over the age of 28, working in the corporate world, in intermediate leadership positions and in social impact projects.
The program also covers successful female entrepreneurs. Women with this profile can apply using the registration form that will be available on the EY Mozambique website and social networks, as well as on New Faces New Voices.
This new edition takes a more inclusive approach by targeting disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities, women working in the informal and rural market, among others.
In its first edition, the project achieved significant success by involving women from different sectors and different social backgrounds. The organizers hope that the second edition will exceed expectations due to its inclusiveness and geographical scope.
Paulo Reis, Office Managing Partner at EY, highlighted the importance and social impact of 'Be Like a Woman'.
"This project reflects EY's values of promoting diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities. We would like to thank the partners who believe in the project, helping to make it more widespread", he said.
The President of New Faces New Voices, Tânia Saranga, considers inclusion and territorial coverage to be fundamental. "We're excited to be adding some themes, especially the Investment theme.
We would like women to make the right decisions about how and where to invest, so we want to encourage all women in the country to take part in this edition," she said.
The second edition of 'Be Like a Woman' is once again sponsored by Banco Comercial de Investimento, BCI. Francisco Costa, Chairman of BCI's Executive Committee, highlights the initiative's potential because it is a "project that focuses on improving people's skills and improving the business environment".
Alcinda Licussa, winner of the first edition of 'Be Like a Woman', highlights "the differential of the program" which, she says, "allows us to grow in various areas".
"It is distinguished by the fact that the facilitators are experts in their fields and allow individual sessions to identify and overcome our weaknesses," he explained.
In addition to the mentoring sessions, 'Be Like a Woman' provides participants with access to exclusive events and a network of women and men in leadership positions in the management and governance of various organizations. Participants are also eligible for prizes and specific training.
