Pebane sand extraction starts next week

The trials for the extraction and processing of heavy sands in the Pebane district, in Zambézia province, will begin next week.

Sources from the mining company TZM Resources, S.A., the project's concessionaire, don't give an exact date for start-up, but assure "Notícias" that all the machines are already in place. According to the same sources, the guarantees given to the authorities are that the company is already in a position to start operating, once the necessary procedures have been completed.

The assumptions made include public consultation, an environmental impact study and the installation of the machinery needed to proceed with the project.

Eduardo Vida, administrator of the Pebane district, explained, as quoted by "Notícias", that TZM Resources is going to set up two exploration and processing units, one in Alto Maganha, in the administrative post of Mulel, and the other in Tomeia, in Nabúri.
It should be noted that the concession is for 15 years and is budgeted at 30 million US dollars.
