On Eduardo Mondlane Avenue, a Mozambican police armored car ran over two people near the end of the road in Maputo city.
According to images shared on social media, the car was traveling at high speed with the aim of dispersing the demonstrators who had occupied the Eduardo Mondlane road.
Another woman was hit by an armored police car on Avenida 25 de Setembro and was taken to hospital.
Deserted roads, paralyzed vehicles and thousands of people took to the streets of Maputo city to demonstrate in protest at the election results.
With signs bearing various slogans, the demonstrators called out the name "Venancio, Venancio", a scene that can be seen all over the Mozambican capital.
On the 25 de Setembro avenue, the road was completely blocked, with no traffic. The demonstrators played vuvuzelas and whistles to protest against the government of the day.
Fearless, and to the sound of the song "people in power", the demonstrators walked along Avenida 25 de Setembro, with photos of Venâncio Mondlane, demanding changes in governance.
On Julius Nyerere Avenue, the square of the combatants, some demonstrators were lying down in the middle of the road, blowing whistles, holding flags, and saying: "We're tired of this government, of these thieves, we're tired."
This is the first day of the third stage of the fourth round of post-election demonstrations called yesterday by the presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane.
