Social activist Adriano Nuvunga believes that the Mozambican state is collapsing, mainly because it fails to tacitly fulfill basic obligations such as paying salaries.
For the Director of the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CDD), the social demonstrations the country is witnessing are no longer the "moral" responsibility of the presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, but of the Mozambican people.
"The Mozambican state is collapsing.... Today it is in the pockets of a few leaders, controlled by organized crime," he said.
According to the critic of the regime, large sums of money from tax payments that enter the country through the Tax Authority "evaporate" without being directed towards solving the state's concerns.
To resolve these challenges, Nuvunga argues that the solution is electoral justice, "respecting the will of the people" and the Constitution of the Republic.
In the activist's view, the solution lies with the President of the Republic, in this case Filipe Nyusi, who called the October 9 general elections, which he considered "the worst ever".
He suggested that Nyusi make a Communication to the Nation about the current political and social situation, resulting from the general elections, in order to "calm the people down".
