Ernst & Young (EY), in partnership with Microsoft, is launching the 'Green Skills Passport' course.
An innovative program aimed at young people over 16 and other interested parties who wish to acquire skills in the area of sustainability, exploring job opportunities in environmentally responsible sectors.
The program, part of EY's social responsibility projects, aims to positively impact the lives of many young people by promoting training in ecological and sustainable skills. The training, which is completely free, is offered through the Microsoft Community Training platform, with access via mobile devices and the internet.
Paulo Reis, Office Managing Partner at EY Mozambique, reiterates "the consultancy's commitment and its role as a promoter of initiatives aimed at directly benefiting the future generation of workers, by supporting the development of skills that will have a direct impact on building a more sustainable society".
The 'Green Skills Passport' is a 10-hour course that can be taken at each student's own pace, from anywhere and at any time, covering three main modules: sustainability, entrepreneurship and employability.
The section on sustainability will provide students with an insight into what sustainability is, why it is important and the opportunities present in the growing 'green economy'. It also includes information on what green jobs are, job opportunities and the skills and qualifications required.
The entrepreneurship section presents the principles of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial behavior and ecological entrepreneurship.
Finally, the employability section provides knowledge on the main and broader employability skills needed to get and keep a job.
The course is especially relevant for young people over 16 who are outside the education system and the job market, but it is open to anyone interested in learning more about green jobs and sustainable development.
The course syllabus emphasizes CV writing, interview preparation and essential job skills, as well as providing a solid grounding in green entrepreneurship.
The aim is to help young people seek employment and enter the job market by developing skills.
Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion with EY and Microsoft branding, adding value to their CV.
