The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) has already taken steps to shed light on the kidnapping of a businessman near Casa Militar in Maputo city.

Quoted by the newspaper NewsSERNIC's spokesman, Hilário Lole, said that the images captured by security equipment at the scene were currently being examined and family and friends were being questioned.

The kidnapping took place on Sunday morning, on Rua Samuel Dabula Nkumbula (formerly Rua General Teixeira Botelho) - a northern extension of Avenida Amílcar Cabral - which separates the neighborhoods of Sommerschield and Coop.

"Four kidnappers, armed with a pistol, discreetly dragged the businessman to a Toyota Sienta light vehicle without a license plate," said Lole.

The citizen owns a bottle store dedicated to selling wines and other spirits.
