The biometric driving license printing services in Mozambique will now be carried out by the German group Muhlbauer High Tech International, selected to replace Brithol Michcoma.

Brithol Michcoma suspended the issuance of driver's licenses due to alleged lack of compliance with contractual obligations by the National Institute of Road Transport (INATRO), formerly the National Institute of Land Transport (INATTER). According to Brithol Michcoma INATRO owes about 40 million meticais.

The Purchasing Management and Execution Unit at INATRO makes it known, through an award notice, that the company Muhlbauer High Tech International has won the public tender launched last January 22.

The group that will now take responsibility for the production, printing and supply of the biometric driver's license is the same group that produces the Identity Cards, after winning a public tender for the purpose in 2017.

Meanwhile, the new driver's license provider is preparing to take over the responsibility of producing and printing driver's licenses, in a scenario where Brithol Michcoma has not yet received the value of services rendered up to the date of the suspension of driver's license issuances.
