Emirates Airlines carries more than 10 million passengers this summer

Emirates Airlines, the world's largest international airline, carried more than 10 million passengers this summer on nearly 35,000 flights to 130 destinations.

In a statement, the airline, said that "having anticipated the strong return of travel demand, Emirates Airlines worked closely with its airport partners to operate as planned, minimize travel disruptions, and get passengers to their vacations and planned trips, worldwide during the summer."

The airline has also increased operations to serve passenger demand during this period, restoring daily flights to London Stansted and increasing flights to 33 cities on popular routes in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as well as to favorite vacation destinations such as the Seychelles, Maldives, Mexico and Miami.

In June, Emirates recalls that it added Tel Aviv to its global network and in July added a third daily flight from Dubai to London Gatwick to serve passengers affected by capacity cuts at Heathrow, the note quoted by the newspaper Económico reveals.

"The iconic A380, the world's largest commercial aircraft, was also used on some routes to meet high passenger demand in more than 30 cities around its network," the company said.

On the ground, Emirates reopened and operated 32 Emirates Lounges, "including 25 lounges at major airports in its network, dedicated to providing frequent flyers and premium passengers with a comfortable haven to rest and refresh during their journey."

The company has also "reinstated its Chauffeur Drive trademark, free airport transportation for First and Business Class passengers in nearly every city it serves."

Dubai International (DXB) is the world's busiest international airport. "With millions of Emirates passengers arriving, departing and transiting through DXB every month, the airline has ensured smooth operations at its 24/7 hub, with close coordination and additional resources deployed across the airport ecosystem," the company avers .

"Passengers have benefited from the airline's investments in services and digital initiatives to reduce waiting times at the airport and facilitate a smooth flow so that passengers complete their formalities and reach their destination," Emirates further says.

During the summer months the airline counted more than 3.8 million passengers using the online check-in network through emirates.com and the Emirates App; and more than 500,000 passengers using the 22 self-service check-in kiosks and 38 baggage drop-off facilities at Dubai Terminal 3.

It also counted more than 11,000 passengers who used Emirates' in-country check-in services, free of charge for First Class passengers departing from Dubai, "completely avoiding the airport check-in and queue and proceeding directly to immigration control."

Emirates ensures that it continues to rebuild its network and capacity as travel restrictions ease. It is currently operating at 74% of its pre-pandemic network/capacity and plans to increase it to 80% by the end of the year.

The airline will also begin a $2 billion retrofit program in November to equip 120 planes with its latest in-flight products.
