Citizens registered to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming general elections on October 9 will be able to consult their respective polling station online before casting their ballot.

A communiqué from the National Electoral Commission (CNE) received by our newsroom today states that voters will be able to make their inquiries via links to be made available on the following portals www.cne.org.mz or www.stae.org.mz .

"This service aims to allow voters to consult and have information about the polling station and the respective polling station," it reads.

On the other hand, the CNE said that, on Saturday, its website was the target of a cyber attack "by malicious people, the consequences of which have yet to be determined".

He explained that the electoral bodies had to deactivate the page in order to regain control of it.

"We are currently working to strengthen the security mechanisms in order to prevent further invasions," he said.
