The president of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Dom Carlos Matsinhe, received, last Friday (08), the last notices that were missing before being submitted to the Constitutional Council. These were notices from the province of Inhambane that had not yet been delivered.
According to the newsletter of the Center for Public Integrity (CIP), which monitors the electoral process in Mozambique, on Friday Matsinhe may have sent the entire process to the Constitutional Council, which had given him eight days and Friday was the last day.
However, the opposition representatives in the Constitutional Council doubt the veracity of the information contained in the notices sent out. "It may be that the notices have been tampered with, because information is circulating that many notices have disappeared and others have been found at the Frelimo party headquarters in Chimoio, for example, and still others in the rubbish dump," says the same publication.
