One person was arrested on Thursday morning (10) as a result of clashes between people and the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) in the Liberdade neighborhood, in the city of Moatize, Tete province.
The case occurred when the population of Moatize tried to prevent a vehicle loaded with voting materials from leaving for the district's Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE).
People allege that there was fraud in some polling stations.
The police who were securing the caravan intervened to quell tempers, and fired several rounds of tear gas at the crowd.
The shops were closed until order was restored and reopened in the afternoon.
