Between today and tomorrow, the District Election Commissions (CDE) are expected to release the partial or provisional results of the general elections held last Wednesday, October 9.

The EDCs have up to three days from the close of voting to present the results from the polling stations.

However, some CDEs have already started publishing the results, even though they haven't completed the process of verifying the notices and minutes from the polling stations. The results show that the Frelimo and Podemos parties, as well as their candidates, continue to lead the polls. Renamo and the Democratic Movement of Mozambique are trailing.

This process is taking place while all over the country various types of electoral offenses are being reported that could call into question the credibility of the data collected.

After the district phase, the provincial phase follows, with a deadline of five days from the close of voting. This means that, by Monday (14), all the provinces must present the finalized election results.
