The Mozambican international Edmilson Dove returned to his homeland to strengthen the club União Desportiva do Songo, in Tete province, announced this Monday, the club.
"União Desportiva do Songo (UDSongo) has just secured the contract of Mozambican international Edmilson Dove. The left defender arrived this Monday (21.02) to Songo, to join the already confirmed reinforcements for this season," reads the publication of the club, in one of its pages on social networks.
The 28-year-old left-winger arrives at the Tete club after wearing the jersey of Cape Town City in South Africa for almost five years, that is, since 2017
The South African press reports that Dove, "a rising star" terminated his contract with the Cape Town club on Monday, January 31, 2022, and it appears that the breach of contract was not consensual between the club and the player.

At the time, it was thought that clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United and Stellenbosch FC might be in need of players with Dove's defensive and attacking qualities.
