"It is premature to advance whether or not tropical cyclone Batsirai will hit Mozambican coast" -INAM

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) warned this Sunday that the meteorological system, called "BATSIRAI", which formed along the southwest Indian Ocean basin, has evolved from Tropical Storm to Tropical Cyclone.

The phenomenon is expected to hit the coast of Mauritius, moving to the east coast of Madagascar, already in the form of an intense tropical cyclone, starting this Wednesday, February 2.

However, the meteorologist at INAM, Arsénio Mindo, told Rádio Moçambique this Sunday that after it enters the Malagasy country next weekend, it will be possible to assess whether or not the system will hit our country.
