In the hope of modernizing the process, making it more transparent, efficient and traceable, the Government launched this week project to set up an electronic public procurement system (e-GP)

In her opening speech, Finance Minister Carla Loveira said that the acquisition of goods and services by the state should be a process that inspires trust, promoting fairness and accessibility for all suppliers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. O he launch of e-GP is not just the adoption of a technological system, but a new paradigm in public governance.

"This commitment, which is linked to transparency and accountability, goes far beyond digitizing processes. It requires a change of culture in the Public Administration and close collaboration with all sectors of society," she said.

For his part, the Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation, Américo Muchanga, said that the implementation of the Electronic Public Procurement Project (E-GP) responds to the wishes of the Information Society Policy, an instrument approved by Resolution 17/2018 of June 21.

He called on the main players who will be taking part in the development of the eProcurement Project to take into account the work and initiatives of ICT governance and Digital Government cooperation so that, at this early stage of the project, they ensure that this platform is part of the implementation of the Platform for the Interoperability of eGovernment Systems, Digital Identity, Public Key Infrastructures, and the Citizen's Portal-Public Services Portal;

"We have to use Digital Transformation opportunities or initiatives, such as this e-Procurement Project, as an opportunity to exploit synergies and maximize the use of resources in terms of results and impact," he stressed.
