The Mozambican state is demanding compensation of 10 billion dollars from Privinvest for the damage caused to Ematum, MAM and ProIndicus.
Citing a source in the Attorney General's Office (PGR), Notícias reports that Mozambique is asking the British authorities to nullify the loans.
It should be remembered that this week the Supreme Court authorized the Mozambican state to sue PrivInvest. The company claims that the contracts signed with Mozambiques provided for any dispute to be settled by arbitration.
In a decision published last week, the British Supreme Court upheld the appeal lodged by the Mozambican PGR against an unfavorable decision in the Court of Appeal last year.
Representing the Mozambican state, the PGR has taken PrivInvest and its owner Iskandar Safa, the Credit Suisse bank and other parties involved in the case to court.
At stake are loans worth more than 2.7 billion dollars, taken out between 2013 and 2014 in favor of the companies Ematum, MAM and ProIndicus.
