The Judicial Court of Maputo City has scheduled for today, Monday, the hearing as a declarant, of the former Minister of Fisheries Víctor Borges, in the trial of the case of hidden debts.
He is the first declarant on the list of former leaders who will be heard by the sixth section of the Judicial Court of the city of Maputo, as part of the production of evidence for the discovery of material truth in the case that damaged the Mozambican state by more than 2.2 billion dollars.
Víctor Borges is heard as a declarant in this trial, because at the time of the facts he was the Minister of Fisheries.
Besides Víctor Borges is on the list of former leaders to be heard by the Judicial Court of Maputo City, the former Interior Minister Alberto Mondlane.
Also scheduled to be heard is the former President of the Republic, Armando Guebuza, who will close the list of declarants in this trial.
On Friday the Judicial Court of Maputo city, heard four declarants, namely, Tomás Mabjaia, Gilberto Mabjaia, Salomão Mabjaia and Naldo Majante.
In his hearing, the declarant Naldo Majante confirmed in court, that he had made his account available for the remittance of 3.75 billion meticais.
The amount corresponds to the sale of an unfinished property to the defendant Ângela Leão, in the city of Matola, Maputo province.
The declarant clarified to the Court that the provision of his account to receive the said amount, was at the request of his brother, the defendant Cremild Majante.
At Friday's hearing the Public Prosecutor's Office, represented by Prosecutor Ana Sheila Marrengula, waived the questioning of declarant Gilberto Mabjaia, opting instead to put few questions to declarants Naldo Majante, Salomão Mabjaia and Tomás Mabjaia.
