The advisor to Venâncio Mondlane, the PODEMOS presidential candidate who does not recognize the results of the general elections of October 9, said yesterday, Friday (03), that the swearing in of the deputies of the supporting party will be a "betrayal" of the people who are fighting for electoral truth.
Speaking in a video posted on his social network Facebook, Dinis Tivane defended the rejection of the results promulgated by the Constitutional Council (CC).
"Taking over the Podemos party would be a betrayal, because the people are fighting, they're on the streets. More than that is the fact that the PODEMOS party, in our parallel count, has 138 seats. Why should the party rush to take possession of 43 seats, when the party deserves 138?" said Dinis Tivane.
It should be remembered that the presidential candidate who is leading the biggest challenge to the election results in Mozambique since the first elections in the country, Venâncio Mondlane, postponed on Thursday (02), the announcement of the details of the new phase of the demonstrations called "Ponta de Lança", citing technical reasons and other unforeseen events.
In a post on his Facebook account, Venâncio Mondlane asked his supporters for their understanding, explaining that "the postponement is a gesture of respect and that he wants the message to come across clearly and thoroughly".
Before that, Venâncio Mondlane accused the government of launching chaos and terror in order to then blame the opposition and gain legitimacy to repress the protests.
