In the early hours of Tuesday (27), unknown individuals partially set fire to the backyard of the home of a member of the Maxixe Municipal Assembly, in Inhambane province.

He is António Sautane Chulo, who was once second vice-president of the Inhambane Provincial Assembly for Renamo.

According to a publication by the Centre for Public Integrity (CIP), a non-governmental organization that monitors the electoral process, in 2016, while in office, António Sautane Chulo was shot by alleged strangers. It was at the height of the political assassinations of Renamo members, which began in 2012. At the time, he had just left another session of the provincial deliberative body.

Given the seriousness of his injuries, Chulo, who was also a district political delegate, had to be evacuated to Maputo Central Hospital. The young "partridge" activist is described as irreverent and an excellent monitor of electoral processes. The Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) has promised to investigate the case.
