In the early hours of this morning, a group of unidentified individuals fired at least 24 shots at the garage door of the home of Dinis Tivane, the political advisor to former presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane. Tivane accuses Frelimo of "having him killed".
In a post on his Facebook page, Tivane said that due to the gaps in the gate, some bullets ended up inside the garage. It was possible to pick up some bullet casings.
As he said, the possible attempt to silence him took place at a time when he and his family were not at home.
"Fortunately, my family and I were not at home. I had left for neighboring South Africa to deal with private matters," he wrote in the post, the text of which is accompanied by a video.
Witnesses told him that the attackers were transported in a white Toyota Hilux (GD-6). "...it was a real scene of terror".
This is the second time that shots have been fired, indicating intimidation and an assassination attempt. On the first occasion, the guard of the residence was shot.
"Anyway, this is the situation, dear brothers. This is the kind of response we get from these guys, the Frelimo party. This is the way they respond when citizens exercise their constitutionally enshrined rights," he accused, questioning the need for the party to kill even though it already has the Constitutional Council, the National Electoral Commission (CNE), the Attorney General's Office (PGR) and the courts under control.
