The ceremony to launch the financing program for small, medium and large companies in the provinces of Inhambane, Gaza, Sofala and Manica, which was initially scheduled for this week, has been postponed.
The postponement was due to the current situation in the country, which did not allow for better organization of the ceremony that was supposed to take place in Inhambane province, said Apogeu Siniquinha, the grants specialist for the Mais Oportunidades Project, as quoted by "Notícias".
This is an initiative of the Mozambican government and has financial support from the World Bank, to the tune of 17 million US dollars.
In the four provinces covered by the program, funding will be provided to relaunch at least 100 companies in the tourism, agribusiness and construction sectors, mainly those affected by the cyclones and storms that hit the country.
According to the source, during the five years of the project 500,000 to 700,000 dollars will be disbursed to large companies and up to 250,000 for small and medium-sized ones, provided that the applicants are duly registered and licensed in Mozambique, have organized accounts, a regular tax situation and a business plan.
