More than 300 children with special needs in the Matola district received food kits yesterday, delivered by the wife of the governor of Maputo province, Olinda Tule.
In the neighborhoods of Boquisso, the administrative post of Infulene, 98 kits were delivered to the children of the Juntos Somos Fortes (Together We Are Strong) Association; in Machava-Sede, 120 kits and in Matola-Sede 82.
On this occasion, the Governor's wife interacted with the respective parents, child-heads of families and elderly beggars.
Also in Boquisso, the association asked the government to intervene and provide housing for some mothers who had been evicted from their homes.
Olinda Tule encouraged parents to continue looking after their children, guaranteeing the assistance of the government and partners, especially the Salvation Army Church, whose contribution resulted in the "kits" delivered, aimed at helping to improve the diet.
