The President of the Republic (PR), Filipe Nyusi, authorized, this Wednesday (19), in Maputo, to go to the beaches all over the country, between 5 am and 4 pm.

In a communication to the Nation, from the Presidency of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi appealed to the conscious use of beaches at a national level and warned that in case of irresponsible behavior measures may be taken to protect people's lives.

The PR has decided to maintain, for another 30 days, the decree on the situation of public calamity in the country, but with some further relaxations. In this sense, commercial establishments and the like will once again operate within the normal hours set by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, between 05h and 21h.

The number of daily visitors to patients in the country's hospitals has been extended from one to two. Prisoners may receive two visits per month while the new decree is in force.

The Head of State also announced the reduction of the quarantine period from 14 days to seven.

The President said that there remains the need to consolidate covid-19 prevention, aiming to maintain the downward trend of infections and deaths due to covid-19 in the country.
