Leaders from 45 countries have committed to more natural and sustainable agriculture and land management, measures that will have a special impact in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
In an action taken today by the COP26 presidency, details will still be known this Saturday at the climate summit being held in Glasgow, dedicated to nature and land use, include the mobilization of four billion dollars in new public investment dedicated to innovation in agriculture.
Countries will promote measures to develop new "climate-resilient" crop varieties and "regeneration solutions" to improve soil quality.
The organizers of the summit, chaired by the UK, stressed in a statement the willingness of the countries committed to the project to "transform agriculture and the food system through policy reform, research and innovation."
