A forum on investment and infrastructure construction, taking place this month in Macau, will have a side event dedicated to cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
The 13th International Forum on Investment and Infrastructure Construction (IIICF) will take place on September 28 and 29, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said on Sunday.
The IIICF will have two main and eight parallel forums, including one dedicated to the theme "Strengthening Sino-Lusophone cooperation in infrastructure to promote the recovery of the SME [small and medium-sized enterprise] sector."
This forum will bring together professionals from mainland China and Macau to "promote innovation" and "explore opportunities to build new green, smart and integrated infrastructures," IPIM said in the same note.
The IIICF will be attended by "more than 1,300 members of the political, business and academic infrastructure elite from around the world," including Chinese deputy ministers and representatives of state-owned enterprises and major Chinese contractors, IPIM said.
The IIICF will be held "mainly" in person and "complemented" by online activities, the institute stressed.
Unlike for those entering through the border with mainland China, those arriving in Macau from abroad or Hong Kong are still required to undergo a seven-day quarantine in a hotel, followed by three days of "medical self-surveillance" that can be done at home.
