Fighting organized crime and terrorism in line with Lutero Simango's promises

Combate ao crime organizado e terrorismo na linha de promessas de Lutero Simango

The presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) party, Lutero Simango, is seeking votes in Maputo city. He promised potential voters to put an end to organized crime and terrorism.

The President of the MDM has promised to transfer the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) from the Ministry of the Interior to the Attorney General's Office (PGR).

He said that the strategy to combat kidnappings and abductions is clear in his government's program.

"The way SERNIC works today, it doesn't have the capacity to combat kidnappings and abductions. And this transfer will create the conditions for a serious fight against kidnappings and abductions," he promised, noting that he will work with the international police to combat organized crime in the country.

Simango reaffirmed his commitment to put an end to the terrorism plaguing Cabo Delgado province.

"There I made a commitment to end the war, and we are going to end the war," he said.

In front of the population, he said that he would create the conditions to build up national industry.

In Maputo, he was pleased to be the first candidate to visit all the country's provinces before the end of the election campaign. He considers the first stage of the process to be over.
