PRM commander urges population to take up white weapons and fight terrorists

Comandante da PRM insta a população a pegar em armas brancas e lutar contra os terroristas

The General Commander of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM), Bernardino Rafael, urged the population of the administrative post of Bilibiza, in the district of Quissanga, in the province of Cabo Delgado, to take any kind of resource that can serve as a weapon to fight terrorists.

According to Bernardino Rafael, the population of that province must stop leaving their home areas to flee from the terrorists and fight head-on against the armed group.

"When they enter our machambas what we have to do is to chase and resist with knife, machete, zagaia. And, at that point, one has to run and communicate the Defense and Security Forces so that we can join and pursue these terrorists," explained the commander.

This direct appeal to the population in mitigating terrorism took place at a rally where individuals who allegedly belonged to terrorist groups were presented. Among the people captured are those responsible for citizen identification and recruitment, transporters, and recruits.

"Here in the district of Quissanga there are people who receive the recruiters and recruits to join the ranks of the terrorists. We are going to present, just to see, because they have already been pardoned," said Bernardino Rafael, stressing that the objective is for people to know the reality of the existence of people collaborating with the terrorist.
