CNJ calls for young people to go to the polls en masse

CNJ apela à adesão massiva de jovens às urnas de votação

For the seventh time, Mozambique has confirmed that it is a state governed by the rule of law and democracy by holding general and provincial assembly elections in an atmosphere of peace and a demonstration of the unity of the Mozambican people.

Starting at midnight on August 24, 2024, the electoral campaign will run for 45 days throughout the country and in the diaspora. Political parties and organizations will have the opportunity to present their election manifestos. We are aware that the participation of young people at these times is mandatory, as they make up the majority of the active population.

The National Youth Council (CNJ) takes this opportunity to call on all young Mozambicans to participate actively, orderly and peacefully in the electoral campaign. We need to prove that we love Mozambique, our homeland where we were born and where we hope to build a better future for all. The National Youth Council, as the interlocutor of young Mozambicans, will monitor the electoral process through a mission of observers throughout the country, made up of suitable and responsible people.

The electoral observation mission will be launched on 29 August 2024 at 2pm at the CNJ headquarters in front of youth associations and organizations interested in the electoral process.
