On Monday, the leader of the Podemos party submitted a criminal complaint to the Attorney General's Office (PGR) against the National Electoral Commission (CNE) for signing a document approving ballot boxes where voters can deposit multiple ballot papers at the same time.
Elvino Dias told journalists in Maputo that the CNE's attitude is illegal and violates this year's revised electoral law, which approves ballot boxes capable of receiving one ballot at a time.
In the opinion of Podemos, the party supporting Venâncio Mondlane's independent candidacy, this attitude demonstrates the CNE's intention to defraud the current electoral process.
"We think that these acts flagrantly violate a law passed by the Assembly of the Republic," he said.
Podemos called on the PGR to notify the CNE as quickly as it notified Venâncio Mondlane about the use of campaign music that could be used to insult state entities.
On the same day, the Podemos party filed a criminal complaint against the Frelimo party for committing various electoral offenses, including the use of state resources for campaign logistics for the presidential candidate, Daniel Chapo.
