The city of Beira, in Sofala, has as of this Tuesday an Urban Structure Plan, which has as its main objective to improve resilience to climate change and respond to population growth.
The instrument, delivered by the provincial government, must be approved by the Municipal Assembly.
The provincial director for Land and Environment in Sofala, Diogo Borges, said he hoped the urban structure plan would bring improvements in the living conditions of the residents.
For the mayor of Beira, Albano Carige, with the plan, the conditions are created to make the city more attractive, safe, and resilient to climate change.
